Hoggy Reaches Number 3 in App Store!
UPDATE: Hoggy is now the number 1 free app on iTunes! … ;-)
I have some more great app success news for you today.
An app that we featured yesterday, Hoggy, is already sitting in the #3 spots in the Top Free Apps on iTunes!
Here’s the impressive app chart for Hoggy’s free promotion:
As you can see, Hoggy went from being almost non-existent on Wednesday to being in the top 3 free apps on iTunes on Friday.
So … congrats to the Hoggy Developers, and another thanks to the community here.
Without you all downloading these great free apps, non of this would be possible!

Anytime Ryan. Since it was not featured on FAAD or OF hopefully now some people will realize that FAR does have some affect on the success of a free app on itunes.
Hey! I don’t want to make you upset or anything, but it was featured on greatappaday.com! Tell me if they’re just like you or something, or otherwise this acheivement might not be so great…..
Anyway though, you ahve had some free apps shown on this website that I haven’t seen elsewhere. You’re stil a useful website, k? :D

Never heard of greatappaday.com and it’s no where near as popular as OF or FAAD. That says a lot.
OF, FAAD and Great app a day are the ones that make the app go free. Developers contact those websites and they go free because of the website. No apps are free because of FAR. There are also many sites like Free app report. Including Freeappalert and Appshopper.
Do not claim you did something when you didnt.
If all 6000 of FAR readers downloaded the app it would barely break the the top 100. The number one free app gets downloaded 100s of thousands of times a day. (if you dont believe me look at the dev of “Ow My Balls!” blog post)
Who are you the free app police or do you work for great app a day? Never once did he mention he or the site was 100% responsible for getting “hoggy” to #1. Get your facts straight before posting.
I think FAR is a great website that shows users the best apps that went free. But the fact that there was a post about it makes it seem like that FAR thinks it is responsible while it is not.
